India and The Jones – Caught In The Middle

Why bother trying to match the world’s expectations when it’s lightyears more freeing to find and define ourselves with each step? Director Jumai Yusuf and animator Alexa Velasquez co-created a cinematic visual for India and The Jones’ latest release, Caught In The Middle, that recenters the hero’s journey from the typical white male hero to a Black woman.

Director Jumai Yusuf hopes to combine her love of science and art through film. She is passionate about genre filmmaking (sci-fi, fantasy, horror), and since she is a Muslim, Nigerian immigrant, she always strives to bring the stories and characters of underrepresented minorities to the screen. Her other interests include Producing, Production Design, and Animation.
