I Was, Wasn’t I

Mara’s life, a teenager living in the countryside Romania, is turned upside down when her parents force her to marry a young man from the city. Mara feels like there is no escape but to obey her parents and suppress her feelings for her friend, Ioana. All seems lost, when all of a sudden a tragic event happens in her family that makes her question herself for the first time: “Do I have a choice?” Mara turns against her family and makes a series of radical decisions in order to take her life into her own hands.
