Getting Through to Granny

Early 2021, Marie fell and was taken away by ambulance. I tried desperately to find Marie and navigate the care system but time was against us. Feeling helpless and bemused, I started recording. This film reminds us of the endless patience (and occasionally humour) needed in this time of uncertainty.

Born and raised in Sheffield, Sakhile worked for companies like Altitude and Pathe. She worked at LSA, a state-funded school for students with a passion for storytelling. Newly freelance, Sakhile is currently Producing and Directing short films with all femxle crews, she believes in championing meaningful stories to overlooked audiences.
